Kelso Connections 2009

Several local organisations are looking at ways to celebrate Kelso Homecoming throughout 2009. Various events are planned which celebrate our culture, heritage and the contribution Kelso has made to the world.

The group has been established under the auspices of Kelso Community Events to facilitate Kelso's contribution to the Year of the Homecoming 2009.

A series of displays, exhibitions, children's activities, talks and other events are being planned. The intention is that other groups looking to to celebrate the Homecoming will participate with Kelso Connections to make 2009 a year to celebrate our heritage, culture and the many contributions that Kelso has given the world.

Events are planned throughout the year, however, the main focus will be "We Come Frae Kelsae", boards depicting Kelso people who have made a contribution to the world. It is envisaged that these boards will be displayed in shops and other public buildings throughout the year on a rolling basis. In conjunction with this display, competitions will be held to encourage people to discover the valuable contribution made by people who have lived, worked or were born in Kelso and its environs.
