Elisabeth McNeill delights St James Fair audience
At an event in Kelso Town Hall on 2nd September, as part of the St. James Fair celebrations, an enthralled audience was treated to a very entertaining session by Liz Taylor, the famous local writer, who recounted tales from her life and revealed how she researches and writes her novels.
To avoid confusion her non fiction titles are published under her name Liz Taylor. Writing under her nom de plume Elisabeth McNeill, she has now written 25 novels, with many of them set in the Scottish Borders. Her novel St James Fair is centred on Kelso and was of particular interest as the event was linked to the Fair weekend in Kelso.
Her new novel Flodden Field which is due for publication in October is eagerly awaited by her many fans. Liz is currently researching for a further novel set in Wallington Hall. She will be visiting the Hall and researching in the archives once she has recovered from her car accident and is mobile again.
Liz skilfully answered questions from the audience regarding her writing techniques and historical research, and left everyone wanting more.
The event was organised by Kelso Library and supported by Live Literature Scotland.
