Kelso Library Readers Group Meeting - 25th November 2008

We held our usual monthly meeting on Tuesday, 25th November, attended by eight people. As usual we discussed the books we had read and some members brought along poetry to read, which they had forgotten at the last meeting!

All very enjoyable. I think next year we might go in for more structured meetings...i.e. discussing subjects such as why we (some of us) lose interest in books for a time. Is it because of lack of time? lack of finding a book worth reading etc.? Also do we faithfully read to the end of every book, or do we read a few pages, decide it is not for us, and there is so much else to occupy our time, we just forget it? Why do we read books at all? Let's have your ideas.

Our next meeting is on January 27th, 2009.

BEFORE THE MEETING HOWEVER WE ARE GOING TO THE CHINESE RESTAURANT FOR LUNCH. IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND PLEASE HAND IN YOUR NAME AT THE LIBRARY ASAP SO THAT PAT CAN ORGANISE THINGS.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL
Hope Santa is kind and gives you some books to read, or not!!

IHE.

Note - Ruth has ordered from our selection of new readers group books - they will hopefully arrive in Kelso Library soon
