Kelso Library Readers group meeting 30.09.08

After a break of two months we had our first meeting of the Kelso Readers Group, held as usual in the Library on the last Tuesday in September (30th). Eight of us attended, this included one new member.

Everyone appeared to have had a busy two months...reading!
Some of the titles were "The March"; "Being Emily"; Random Act of Romantic Love; My Name is Red; "Uncle Silas";"Dear Olivia"; and a biography of Robert Mitchum. All sounded very interesting.
Some of us had also attended the Book Festival held in Edinburgh and had heard AL Kennedy, James Kelman, Katherine Whitehorn and Bill Paterson....so we will be busy trying to get hold of some of these books.

Ruth supplied us with a new list of books we might be able to access through the library.. One was the Camel Bookmobile, which I have at the moment, and we have another two, hopefully, waiting in the wings.

Our next meeting is scheduled for the last Tuesday in October (28th) when we will discuss poems; favourite, funny, sad, meloncholy or whatever takes your fancy.

Till then...keeep reading!
